Lebensmittel Becker – a success story
We are a family-run company with a deep-rooted tradition. At the same time, however, we are a dynamic medium-sized company with its eyes set firmly on the future. The company is currently run by the third generation of the Becker family. The tasks of co-managing director and business management graduate Sabine Becker include the strategic orientation of the company and trend scouting in the food sector.

Becker remains Becker
Breaking new ground: the online shop is established. For instant online ordering – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is joined by the launch of BeSo (Becker Solutions), the Web shop solution for commercial kitchens.

Introduction of our two-chamber lorries
In order to offer our customers optimal delivery conditions, we swap our entire vehicle fleet for lorries with two-chamber cooling technology.

An optimal temperature is a must
Growing demands concerning quality and freshness, coupled with the continuous growth of the company, lead us to expand our logistics centre to incorporate a cutting-edge frozen-storage facility.

Growth needs growth
The company moves to new, larger premises, and an ultra-modern logistics centre spanning 10,000 square metres is inaugurated.

Specialisation in wholesale consumer service and the catering industry. The product range is expanded and new technologies are introduced.

Setting the course for the future
The company headquarters take up residence in the Imperial Hall in August-Bebel-Strasse. The following years are dominated by intensive sales work. The proud fleet of Beetles makes sure the company is on the move.
1935
Year of foundation
On 25 October 1935, Ernst Becker founds his coffee-roasting and food and fish wholesale company in Griesheim near Darmstadt. With the help of his wife Auguste, he steadily expands the business. Ernst Becker is one of the first to offer free delivery to small shops – done at the time with a horse and cart.
